Open Problems in DAO Science

The DAOist Global Governance Gathering, which took place on April 18-19, 2022, hosted a workshop on DAOs. The workshop aimed to bring together researchers and operators from various disciplines to collectively develop a working definition of DAO science and an interdisciplinary research program. The workshop covered topics such as governance, law, political economy, and data standards. Several questions have been addressed, such as :
- What are the open problems in DAO science?
- What are the most pressing legal problems facing DAOs
- How can the DAO Model Law help?
The workshop consisted of lightning talks, curated discussions, and presentations. The outputs were a definition of DAO science, a list of the most pressing problems, and the launch of an initiative to coordinate DAO science research and stakeholders. The workshop was open to DAO operators, lawyers, technologists, social scientists, and computer scientists.
