BlockchainGov Public Workshop

The BlockchainGov Public Workshop was divided into four sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of blockchain technology.
Session 1 was dedicated to the case of Tornado Cash. After the arrest of Alexey Pertsev, the creator of Tornado cash, several points:
- From a legal point of view: who is the operator?
- Is it possible to stop it?
- Is this protocol legitimate?
Then, participants focused on the governance of and by Ethereum after the merge. Finally, participants delved into the implications of the merge on the network and how the decision to merge was made.
Session 2 was about Blockchain and Legitimacy. The BlockchainGov Legitimacy Report was presented, and people gave feedback on it.
Session 3 focused on the legal modeling of DAOs and legal institutions. Participants explored how blockchain-based systems are adopting institutional solutions and legal tools to better interact with the non-blockchain world. The DAOs discussed included dOrg, Opolis, WorkDAO, and LaborDAO.
Session 4 was dedicated to upcoming collaborations in the blockchain space. The workshop discussed Metagov’s GovBase and DAO Research Hub and RadicalXChange’s historical cases of social verification.
